(Published on 05/09/2017)

  1. Residents of Middlesbrough are invited to join a fun six week programme to tell their stories about the town. Middlesbrough Libraries have received Arts Council England funding to create Middlesbrough: My Town My Future and offer residents the chance to tell their story. During the six week programme participants will learn how to take inspirational photographs and create a compelling story about their place in our town. Participants will work with Mark Williams, a photography tutor with Middlesbrough Community Learning, creative writing tutor Natalie Scott and curators from Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art to create a digital community story. All equipment is provided and no experience is necessary. The programme will run in three locations during September and October – Mondays 2-4pm at Central Library from 4th September, Tuesdays 10am-12pm at Marton Library from 5th September and Thursdays 2-4pm at Acklam Library from 7th September.
