Ageing Better Middlesbrough Cafe Meet Up – Debenhams

Monday - first in month between 15.00 - 16.30 at Debenhams, The Corner, 1 Newport Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 1LE.

On the first Monday of the month Debenhams cafe, third floor, will have a space for Ageing Better Middlesbrough members to get together. We hope this is a space for people to come together and spark new friendships.

Joanne and her team at Debenhams are looking forward to meeting members.

Please note that tea/coffee will not be provided for free by Ageing Better Middlesbrough.


Welcome Break

Monday Between 10.00 - 12.00 at St Barnabas Church, 1a St Barnabas Road, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, TS5 6JR

Welcome Break offers tea, coffee and chat. The church is open for people to drop in.

It is held in the Narthex at the back of church on Monday mornings between 10am and 12 noon. It is run by several members of the Church to welcome people to St Barnabas. Drinks are provided free, along with a friendly chat. We want to listen to you. The opportunity exists to show people around the Church and discuss the services and activities.

Silver Linings Dementia Café

The first date for this will be on Monday 29th January 2018 from 2.00 – 3.30pm then every last Monday in the month.

RVS Lunch Club

Tuesday 11.00 - 14.00 Evergreen Walk Meeting Room, Evergreen Walk, Grove Hill, Middlesbrough, TS4 3TD

Come along to our friendly weekly lunch club. We sometimes do chair exercises before lunch and have a game of bingo / dominoes afterwards. We sometimes out other activities on too.

Ageing Better Middlesbrough Café Meet Up – Marks and Spencer

Tuesday, second in month between 14.00 - 17.00 at Marks and Spencer Middlesbrough, Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 1RH

A space reserved exclusively for Ageing Better Middlesbrough members. Marks and Spencer’s Café Meet Up is now a reading group and will be held on the second Tuesday of the month, from 2pm to 5pm.

The get-together, called All Books Matter, will be a chance to discuss a chosen book and meet new people over a cuppa.

All members are still welcome to come along and listen or just enjoy the chance to be sociable. Call Anne Salter for more information on 07749 115304. The group who already meet here for a catch up and cuppa are from the Carers Together group and meet as an informal meet up. They're looking forward to meeting other Ageing Better members.

MIMA - Creative Age

Every Thursday between 1.30pm – 3.30pm at MIMA (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art), Centre Square, Middlesbrough, TS1 2AZ

Creative Age is a series of dementia-friendly activities for adults. We offer free, drop in sessions every week that explore people’s ideas. We work with the imagination model, an enquiry-based practice focused on creativity through story making, touching and doing.

Working with artist Jane Cuthbert, each week we experiment with making and doing.

Ageing Better Middlesbrough Cafe Meet Up – Turtle Bay

On the fourth Thursday between 4pm to 7pm at Turtle Bay Middlesbrough.

Ageing Better's new addition to the Cafe Meet Up programme is Middlesbrough's new Caribbean Social restaurant and bar, Turtle Bay. The staff welcome anyone 50 and over for free tea and coffee, while you enjoy a game or two of dominoes, chess and more.


Dementia Café at Easterside Hub

If you have dementia, or care for someone living with dementia. You will be welcomed at our new monthly Dementia Café at Easterside Hub. Join us for activities and refreshments 2nd Friday of each month from 12pm to 2:00pm.
